State RequirementsRenewal and Continuing Education Requirements Insurance agents and brokers must complete 24 credits of continuing education every two years, which must include 3 credits on ethics. Note: You are not allowed to complete more than 8 credits in any one day. We are an approved license examination provider offering classes that meet the continuing education requirements set forth by the State of Washington. Initially all individual licenses, regardless of the issue date, expire on the individual's next birthday plus one year, and every two years thereafter. A notice and renewal form is sent to the licensee's last address of record approximately two months prior to the license expiration date. The renewal form is required when renewing your license. It is the licensee's obligation to renew even if no notice is received. If you don't receive a notice and renewal form, the most likely reason is that your address has changed and you failed to notify the Insurance Commissioner Licensing Section. Please be aware that the State of Washington requires you to promptly notify that office every time you change your address. If you do not receive your renewal notice and form, or if you change your address, contact the Insurance Commissioner Licensing Section at 360-725-7144. Licensing and renewal requirements are listed on the Washington State Office of the Insurance Commissioner website at www.insurance.wa.gov. |
