Brokers Exam Preparation

Insurance agents who have been licensed for a minimum of two years and who are willing to post a $20,000 bond may take an exam to become licensed as an insurance broker in the State of Washington.

There are no pre-license educational requirements. The exam assumes a prior knowledge of the industry.

For a nominal $50 fee, agents who wish to take the broker's exam may audit any regularly scheduled Walls Insurance pre-license education program covering Life and Disability or Property and Casualty insurance. These courses provide a review of about 50% of the material the broker's exam will cover. One-on-one instruction (up to a maximum of five hours) also can be arranged. Rates are $50 per hour.
